This is a story about the women of my grandmother’s generation - about the strength they carried, the hardships they endured, and the quiet contradictions within them.
They were women shaped by a particular time and a particular cultural code. They learned to endure, to remain composed, to carry responsibility and pain without speaking about it. And yet, within this restraint, there was tenderness, beauty, devotion, and an immense capacity to love.
Growing up with this legacy, I became interested in what is passed from one generation to another - not only through words, but through gestures, silence, rituals, memories, and ways of being.
I wanted to tell this story through photography, translating these inherited feelings into a contemporary visual language. The landscapes, objects, clothing, and symbols in the photographs are fragments of a world that feels both deeply familiar and increasingly distant.
Created between 2019 and 2021, this project became a personal exploration of where we come from and what we carry with us.
What once had to be endured can take on a different meaning in another generation. Perhaps pain can become tenderness. Silence can become expression. And what was once simply inherited can become something we consciously choose to carry forward.

am deeply grateful to the talented people who joined me in creating this story. Each of them brought their own vision and sensitivity to the project, and together we created something that became more than an image — a shared interpretation of a feeling passed from one generation to another.
I love you
